Review: Velo Icy Berries (Nicotine Pouches)

Review: Velo Icy Berries (Nicotine Pouches)

The Velo series has recently gone through a redesign, and a lot of products got new names, and new looks. There are also some products that may seem completely new. The one we’re talking about today, Icy Berries, is one that I assumed was a new flavor. When I was browsing the list of products that have changed names and designs, I didn’t see this one on there, so I wasn’t sure where this one came from. Was it an old flavor, back again? Or, was it a completely new product added to the Velo series to go along with this new “relaunch”? Well, today we’re going to get hands on with Velo Icy Berries and see what this product is all about! Whether you like minty flavors, or berry flavors, I think you’re going to find something appealing and enjoyable about the new Velo Icy Berries!

The product description for this one says, “Velo Icy Berries – A tobacco free and all-white snus that, in a discreet way, offers a stimulating and refreshing experience. Its slim sized nicotine pouches deliver a cool mint flavor that is combined with a fusion of three different berries. A fresh and fruity burst of flavor that is accompanied by strong nicotine kick. The all-white and natural mix of plant fibers used as filling ensures that these slim nicopods won’t stain and that they drip minimally. This low amount of drip makes sure that they provide a long-lasting release of both flavor and nicotine.” Each can weighs 14 grams and has 20 pouches, for 0.7 gram pouches. The nicotine content is 14.3mg/g, which breaks down to 10.01mg/pouch.

When I opened a can of Velo Icy Berries, I found the aroma to be very enjoyable. But it also reminded me of something from the former Velo series. This seems to be Velo Berry Frost, back again. I’m not sure what happened with Berry Frost, I didn’t see it for sale for a while, and only saw it in some countries. But, to me, this seems to be Berry Frost, back again. If you’ve never had that one before, don’t fret, I’ll do a review of it, too. In the aroma, I notice a slightly sweet berry smell. It seems to be blueberry, but with a faint touch of strawberry to it. It’s a sweeter one, and has a very faint hint of mint to it. The pouches are the familiar Velo type. These are some of the best in the game. They’re slim, and soft, with a nice mouthfeel. They’re moist, and comfortable under the lip. The flavor releases pretty quickly, too. The taste is mostly berry, making me think of blueberry the most, but almost with a very light touch of strawberry to it. It has a frosty aspect to it, which comes from the mint, but it’s not overly minty in the flavor. It’s more refreshing, and focused around the berries. In the strength, this one feels to be just a little over regular strength, but not too over the top. It has a nice, steady delivery of nicotine to it. The flavor has a decent amount of life to it, as well, lasting around 40-45 minutes, on average.

The Bottom Line

I was a big fan of the taste of Velo Berry Frost, so I’m glad to see it’s returned with Velo Icy Berries. They may not come out and say that’s what it is, but I’m 99.9% sure it’s the same flavor and the same recipe. If you enjoyed that one, you’re going to be quite happy with this one. If you never had it before, it’s one of the better flavors in the Velo series, so is one you must check out!
