Review: 77 Ice Mint
The nicotine pouch manufacturer 77 out of Poland has risen in popularity a lot since their launch 3 years ago. I’ve had a lot of their flavors and have enjoyed their take on the nicotine pouch category. They do make more common flavors such as mint, but they also make some interesting ones such as vanilla cola! Today, we’re going to be checking out one of their mint flavors, Ice Mint. I say that because they have a few, Ice Mint, Fresh Mint, Tropical Mint, Apple Mint, Peach Mint, and Watermelon Mint. I think it’s safe to say they’re big fans of the mint flavor profile. Ice Mint is one of their more traditional mint flavors.
I know, it seems like there are a lot of mint flavors out there. It’s the most popular flavor on the market, and every company out there seems to make one, or twenty, of them. I suppose in the grand scheme of things that’s a good thing, especially if you’re a mint lover. You can try many different shades of this flavor and find out the exact one that corresponds with what you’re looking for in a product. No other flavor has that flexibility in the smokeless world.
So, let’s get into this review and check out this product!
The product description for this one from SnusExpress.com says, “77 Ice Mint Medium Slim – A tobacco free snus that got you covered when you’re craving something minty and refreshing! These discreet, all-white and slim sized nicotine pouches deliver medium strong nicotine kicks (10 mg/portion) together with an icy mint flavor that provide a nice cooling sensation under your lip. The filling used by these comfortable nicopods consists of a natural plant fiber mix. A high-quality filling that eliminates any potential risk of them leaving stains while it also reduces their drip significantly. This minimal amount of drip lengthens in turn their stimulating release of both mint and nicotine.” Each can weighs in at 10 grams and contains 20 pouches, weighing 0.5 grams each. The nicotine content is 20mg/g, but with the lighter 0.5 gram pouches that breaks down to 10mg/pouch, or close to regular strength.
When you open the can, the aroma that comes through is pretty bold. I pick up a sharp, icy, biting aroma of peppermint. It’s lightly sweet, and has subtle hints of menthol behind it. The pouches are slim, and pretty soft to the touch. It’s decently moist, and feels quite comfortable under the lip. Being a mint product, you’ll encounter a familiar cooling sensation when you put a pouch under your upper lip. In the flavor profile, it’s your pretty standard peppermint taste. It’s pretty present. The peppermint flavor comes through first, and is lightly sweet in nature. I notice some menthol, but it’s not so much that it overtakes the peppermint. It serves more as a hint to the peppermint flavor of this one. In the strength, despite the 20mg printed on top of the can, it actually sits at 10mg/pouch, and delivers around the regular strength level. The flavor lasts a decent amount of time, usually up to about 35-45 minutes.
The Bottom Line
If you like mint products, you will probably enjoy this one. In the flavor, it’s your pretty standard, run of the mill peppermint. But, there are a lot of these flavors out there. This is one of the reasons I say it’s good to be a mint fan, because you can try all the different colors of the rainbow and find one that is exactly perfect for you. So, if you like mint and want to try something out with the flavor you enjoy, add this one on to your next order!
