Review: Lab 06
The Lab 06 is an interesting snus. Over the past 14 years I’ve been using snus, there’s something really interesting about this one. It is the only snus product that I’ve used continuously since it launched. I use others, but I mix those up. Lab 06 is one product that has remained in my category, unchanged. Why is that? Because it’s really good. So, I’m excited to talk about it today. Of the entire Lab Series range, this is the one that I enjoy the most. It’s a strong product, and one I like to use after meals. So, let’s check this one out, and talk about one of my favorite snus products!
The flavor description for this one says, “a dark tobacco flavor that incorporates nuances of herbs, oak, cedar and almond”. The catch lid is located on top of the can, and reveals a compartment for you to discard of your used portions if you aren’t near a trash bin. Each can weighs in at 21.6g and has 24 portions, for 0.9g each. The nicotine content sits at 20mg/g, or 18mg/portion.
Opening the can, you’ll notice a dark tobacco aroma, with subtle wood notes. There’s a slight nutty tone to it, and a green herbal character that reminds me of geranium. The portions are slim, moist, and soft to the touch. They have a great fit under the lip, with a soft feel and a quick release of flavor. The taste on this one is fantastic, and one I enjoy above many others. The dark tobacco character is present, and backed up by a nice oak flavor. There’s a little nutty flavor to it, and a slight herbal tone. All of these flavors go together to really make a nice outdoorsy, classic flavor. The nicotine kick on this one is stronger, feeling right at the extra strong level. While not my preferred strength, this is one that always hits just right after meals. The flavor lasts a good 45-50 minutes, on average.
The Bottom Line
I can’t say enough good things about this snus, it’s one of my favorites. I’ve loved it for many years, and it’s one I always have a can of by my bed. After ever meal, Lab 06 is what I reach for. The flavor is fantastic, and really fits quite well with the classic taste of tobacco. If you haven’t had this one, it’s one you’ll want to check out. The flavor is truly amazing.
