Review: Velo Punchy Lime Mini
If there’s one type of flavor I love, or one category of flavor I’m the most into, it’s citrus. And within that category, there is certainly an underrated and underrepresented flavor: lime! Lime is a flavor you just don’t see very often in snus or nicotine pouch products. Well, today we have a nicotine pouch with this tasty, tart flavor: Velo Punch Lime Mellow Mini! This is a nicotine pouch product made by BAT / Fiedler & Lundgren in the popular Velo series. This is a mini product, so the pouches are going to be smaller than the regular size. Opening the can, I pick up an aroma that is unmistakably lime! It is a tart, tangy aroma of lime. It has a faint sweetness to it, but I don’t find it to be too overdone. The pouches are small in size, and soft to the touch with a decent moisture amount. They feel comfortable under the lip, and soft against the gum. The moist pouch leads to a quicker flavor release than your average dry pouch. The flavor of this one is quite good. It’s definitely a straightforward, present taste of lime! The lime flavor is tart, tangy, and slightly sweet. I don’t pick up much else in the flavor profile, which is a nice addition. It’s a great pairing with a beer, too! Or, if you’re not a beer enthusiast, it goes well with a cola, too. The nicotine strength on this one is pretty light. This is a mini pouch, so at 4mg/pouch you’re going to notice it to be a light, mellow strength. It has a steady delivery, but does feel a lot lighter than regular strength. The flavor has a good amount of life on it, lasting up to about 40-45 minutes on average!
The Bottom Line
I am a big fan of the lime flavor. It’s one that you don’t encounter often. While I don’t use a lot of mini sized pouches, I found that with two of these in my lip I was good to go! You don’t have to do that, but you can if you want to. The flavor of this one is really good, though. The lime character is natural, tart, and tangy. It’s great to pair with a beverage, too!
