Review: Velo Freeze X-Strong
Today, we’re going to be doing a nicotine pouch review, and talking about one of the more popular ones on the market - BAT’s Velo Freeze X-Strong! The Velo line is arguably one of the most popular nicotine pouch lines out there. And, with good cause. Since the days of it being known as “Lyft”, it has showcased a wide array of flavors and strengths, offering something to every consumer. The main thing about this one is the product quality. Out of all the nicotine pouch lines on the market, this one is certainly the standard bearer for product quality. So, why don’t we go ahead and get into the review and get to know this product better?
The catch lid on this one is on a little hinge, so you can quickly and easily pop it open to discard of your used nicotine pouches if you don’t have a trash bin close by! The product description for this one says, “Refresh yourself with the extra strong and minty Velo Freeze X-Strong Slim. These tobacco free nicotine pouches deliver a fresh flavor combination of peppermint and menthol”. Each can weighs 14 grams and has 20 portions, for 0.7g each. The nicotine content on the bottom of the can says 10.9mg per portion. In total that would be 15.57mg/g, but ultimately the nicotine per portion is what matters most as that is what you’ll experience with the product.
When you open the can, the mint aroma that comes through is quite bold, and powerful. I pick up present tones of menthol, and peppermint. It’s a sharp aroma, icy, and fresh. There’s some sweetness to it, but honestly not much; it’s pretty dialed back in that area. The nicotine pouches are slim, soft to the touch, and have a solid amount of moisture to them. Under the lip they have a great fit, and feel soft against the gum. At first, I get a little burn when I put one in, but shortly thereafter it becomes a nice cooling sensation. The flavor is quite bold in this one. It’s icy, and present. I notice mostly peppermint, but there’s a pretty decent amount of menthol in the mix, as well. It’s not a super sweet pouch, but has just a little sweetness in the mix. In the strength, this one has quite a kick. I know, it says only 10.9mg/portion. But to me, it feels to be a little above the strong level. And, it hits quick! The flavor lasts quite a while, usually lasting about 40-45 minutes on average.
The Bottom Line
When it comes to nicotine pouches, the Velo line is one of the best on the market. In terms of product quality and variety of flavors, it really doesn’t get any better. I’m a big fan of their Tropic Breeze, personally. As far as this one goes, if you like really strong mint products, you’ll probably dig this one. I think they’re regular Mint product is probably their best mint flavor, as it’s more smooth. But, this one is a good one for folks who like a really strong kick and a really bolt mint taste!
