Review: Chainsaw Cold
Back in 2018, a new product was launched by Swedish Match, Chainsaw Cold Dry! Fast forward to May of 2022, and it was discontinued. Fast forward again to 2023, and they brought it back again! So today, we have in our hand the new-ish Chainsaw Cold Dry! Formerly this one sat at around 17.6mg per portion, but Swedish Match brought it back even stronger, now at 20.02mg/portion! If you’re a fan of mint products, this is a review you’re going to want to check out! I’m not a big mint user myself, but honestly and new snus is a good thing in this “World of Nicotine Pouches” we seem to live in nowadays. A new product, a returning product, or just a limited edition, I get happy when I see new snus products out there. Yes, even if they’re in the “super strong” category. So, let’s get into this review and let me tell you all about Chainsaw Cold Dry!

Its well-filled and white portions have somewhat dry surfaces that reduce their drip, which in turn results in a long-lasting release of both mint and nicotine sure to satisfy.” Each can weighs 15.4 grams and has 20 portions, for 0.77 grams each. The nicotine content sits at 26mg/g, and with the 0.77g portions that comes to 20.02mg per pouch!
When you open up the can, you’ll notice this one has a sharp, bold aroma. It seems to mostly be an icy peppermint aroma but with a little sweet peppermint in the background. It has a little cooling sensation when you put one under the lip, due to the mint flavor profile. The portions are nice and plump, despite only being 0.77g each. I suggest fluffing them, to roll them around a bit under the lip. They feel pretty nice, even if they are slightly more dry than the average white portion. The flavor profile of this one is pretty nice. It’s refreshing, but also sharp, and icy! The mint flavor seems to be mostly peppermint, but with a little spearmint to it. It’s sweet, but not overly sweet. It’s a pretty nice, well rounded, present taste of mint. The nicotine kick on this one is quite strong. It feels a little above the extra strong level and hits pretty hard. If you like something that kicks, this is one you’re going to enjoy. The flavor lasts quite a while due to the dry pouch, hanging out for well over an hour on average.
The Bottom Line
I was glad to see this one come back. Swedish Match makes some high quality products, and this one is no exception. The mint flavor is bold, but also refreshing. It’s an interesting balance, that’s for sure. If you like mint tastes, and also like a strong nicotine kick, this one is going to be right up your alley. For example, if you’re a fan of Oden’s Cold Dry, you’ll enjoy this one. It’s similar, but higher quality due to the GothiaTek standard, and the high quality standard Swedish Match has on their products! So, grab a can or two on your next order, you’ll be quite happy.
