Who Is Chad ‘Snubie’ Jones, and Where Did He Come From?
In 2009, Chad was battling to quit smoking, and he knew it was time to quit. Having recently become a single parent, he knew that his health and the health of his daughter were his number one priority. So, it was time to quit cigarettes for good.
However, as a lot of smokers know, simply quitting smoking isn’t easy. He tried the usual methods such as patches, gums, going cold turkey, and even using Chantix, the quit-smoking drug, but none of them worked.
Late one night, a chance encounter in a store led to his first purchase of American “snus”. Finally, something that took the edge off the cravings and maybe, just maybe, his goal of quitting smoking was obtainable. However, his first introduction to snus wasn’t the best experience.
While it was helping him to reduce how much he smoked, it was too sweet, and the nicotine content was so low it left him still craving cigarettes. There had to be something better, but what? It was this search that started his journey into the world of premium Swedish snus.
The Discovery of Real Snus, Swedish Snus!
His deep dive into the world of snus opened his eyes to the variety of different snus products available and not the rubbish he’d initially tried. So, after a lot of online searching, he ordered his first Swedish snus sampler.
In a world of snus products, he was way out of his depth, and his initial choice of a Swedish Match Testing Kit didn’t leave him overjoyed with the options, but he persevered. In fact, the first time he smelled General White Portion, the aroma was so intense it almost caused him to gag.
As an American diving into the world of Swedish Snus, he kept looking and eventually settled on General Mini Mint. It was love at first sight, and within a week, he’d quit smoking and hadn’t smoked a cigarette since.
The Birth of Snubie
Chad ‘Snubie’ Jones knew that if he was struggling to find snus products that he liked, there would be other people in the same position, and he set out to educate the world and Americans about the differences between real Swedish snus and the snus products being sold in America.
Snubie started out as a simple blog which is still read by millions around the world. The original YouTube channel amassed over 2000 videos, 2 million views and 20,000 subscribers. The Snubie Video Outlet moved to SnubieTV.com and the new Playeur platform, and a year since it’s inception has over 2,000 videos and almost 300,000 views. Chad also launched, and maintains, the only podcast devoted to Swedish Snus and Nicotine Pouches. In 2017, Chad also started the only conference devoted to Swedish Snus in the United States: Snus Con. What started out as a means of helping Americans discover the joys of real Swedish Snus has evolved into one of the most popular snus review and information blogs in the world.
