Göteborgs Rapé XRANGE Nicotine Pouches
I recently wrote a review about the new General XRANGE Nicotine Pouches, and today we have the other side of the coin, the new Göteborgs Rapé XRANGE Nicotine Pouches! Göteborgs Rapé is one of my favorite snus products, so I was a little nervous about the GR brand being brought into the world of nicotine pouches. But, the General version of the XR Nicotine Pouches lineup was pretty good, so I went into this one with an open mind. I wasn’t sure how the flavors of GR Snus would translate to this one, if it would be a clone, or if it would be something completely different. In the end, it wasn’t what I expected, but I found it to be a pretty interesting, tasty nicotine pouch!
In the nicotine pouch segment, most flavors are too sweet, too minty, or too fruity for me. There aren’t a lot of mild, balanced flavors made for more traditional consumers who don’t need all that. I was pleasantly surprised that this one seems to be one that appeals more towards the traditional user. People like me, people who like simple flavors you can use day in and day out and not tire of. So, if you’re as curious about this one as I was, let’s check it out!

Each can weighs 14 grams and has 20 pouches per can. Each pouch weighs in at 0.7g each. The nicotine content, according to the can, is 6.5mg/pouch. Doing some backwards math that's 9.28mg/g in total. But, as we know, the main thing that matters with nicotine strength is how much you get per pouch, because that’s what you’ll experience when using the product.
Opening up the can, I pick up a lot of lavender in the aroma. Behind it, I notice a little pepper, and a slight citrusy presence. There’s a faint hint of berry to it, but it’s very mild and very in the background. The pouches are slim, with a nice fit under the lip. They’re pretty soft, and moist, but not too moist. They feel comfortable against the gum, and have a moderate release of flavor. The taste was pretty interesting on this one. While not a clone of GR Snus, I found that it does seem to, at least, draw inspiration from GR snus. The lavender taste is most of what I taste with this one. It’s floral, and slightly sweet. There’s a little citrus in the mix, and slight hints of pepper. I don’t get a lot of berry from this one, but I can dig a little bit out of the background. The nicotine strength on this one is pretty enjoyable. It feels to deliver about the regular strength level, and has a nice, steady kick from it. The flavor lasts quite a while on this one, almost going to 45 minutes, which is impressive for a nicotine pouch.
The Bottom Line
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this one. In the end, I found a nicotine pouch with an enjoyable flavor. While not a clone of GR Snus, the inspiration it drew from GR translated pretty well in the nicotine pouch itself. If you’re like me and enjoy more simple flavors that you can enjoy day in and day out, this is one you’ll want to check out. I like what Swedish Match did with this one, and I’m hoping for more products to come out in the future that have this type of presence and flavor to them.
