Review: Paz Citrus Nicotine Pouches
Today, we have a nicotine pouch product on hand made by Dholakia Tobacco in their popular Paz series! This is Paz Citrus! I first encountered Paz as a nicotine pouch product and a snus product back in 2019. Since then, Paz has focused more on the nicotine pouch segment with a wide array of flavors: mint, spearmint, licorice, citrus, and more! I like the Paz line because the pouches are some of the softest I’ve had yet, and the flavors are really top notch, another great aspect! If you’ve never had Paz before, let’s check it out, shall we? The product description for this one says, “Paz Citrus X-Strong – A tobacco free and all-white snus from the manufacturer Dholakia Tobacco that treats you to an energetic and refreshing experience! Its discreet and slim sized nicotine pouches deliver extra strong nicotine kicks together with summery and fresh citrus flavor. The high-quality filling used by these comfortable nicopods consists of natural plant fibers. An innovative filling that eliminates any potential risk of them leaving stains while it also keeps their drip to a minimum.” Each can weighs 12 grams and has 20 pouches each, for 0.6 gram pouches. This one is listed as an X-Strong, at 20mg/g of nicotine. But, with the 0.6g pouches that actually breaks down to just 12mg per pouch, which is closer to the strong level.
Opening the can, a rather tart citrus aroma comes through. It is very clearly lemon, and has a nice tart, tangy essence to it. The pouches are quite nice. They’re not super moist, but not super dry. I find the material to be incredibly soft. Putting one under the lip, they’re very comfortable against the gum. These almost have a cooling sensation to them, but they don’t have any mint to the aroma or flavor. It’s a refreshing presence, but it’s not minty, if that makes sense. In the flavor profile, these are definitely citrusy! It comes across mostly as lemon, but perhaps there is a hint of lime to it. It’s tart, it’s tangy, and it’s very slightly sweet. It’s not overdone in the sweetness by any means, but it does have a nice tart presence to it! It’s a pretty nice flavor though, and pretty enjoyable. In the nicotine strength, it does feel strong. To me, it’s not quite extra strong, but maybe a little above the strong level. You will notice some extra kick from this one, that’s for sure. The flavor lasts a decent amount of time, usually hanging out a good 35-40 minutes, on average. One note, I found this to be a pretty good pouch to pair with a beer, particularly an IPA. If you’re into beer pairing, this one hits the mark.
The Bottom Line
So, all in all, what did I think of it? Well, I’m someone who loves the taste of citrus. It’s mostly what I use when it comes to snus and nicotine pouches. I found this one to have a pretty nice taste to it. The lemon essence is well captured, and I like the tart/tangy balance and nature the flavor profile of this one has. I think it’s a pretty tasty pouch with a decent nicotine kick and delivery. All in all, not bad! If you like citrus flavored pouches, you’ll find there aren’t a lot of them, so this is worth a try if that is the flavor category that you find yourself enjoying!
