Review: XPCT Cactus Pear Tube (Nicotine Pouches)

I’ve had a lot of folks asking for reviews of these new XPCT Mega Cans and Tubes, and I’ve been enjoying checking them out over the past few weeks. Today, we have one of the tube products to check out. This is XPCT Cactus Pear! Cactus isn’t a super common flavor out there. Honestly, I’ve never eaten a cactus. I’ve had an XQS product before that had a cactus flavor to it, and from what I remember it tastes like green apple. So, we’ll see how this one comes across. If you’ve never seen one of these before, I’ll walk through what it is, what’s in it, and how to use it!

The top of the tube has a little compartment you can twist off. Inside that twist off part is a snus can that you can use and re-use. That’s what I like about XPCT, it’s a reusable product that doesn’t waste a lot of plastic. When you twist off the top compartment, you’ll find the pouches inside the main body of the tube.

The tube contains a total of 160 pouches. The tube itself weighs 80 grams. This means the pouches weigh 0.5 grams each. The nicotine content is 16mg/g, so that is going to sit right at the regular level of 8mg per pouch.

Now that we’ve talked all about the background, product details, and specifics of this product, let’s get into the review and check it out!

This one has an aroma that, to me, reminds me of green apple. This is what I picked up with the last cactus product I tried, so this makes sense. It’s a slightly sweet, slightly tangy aroma of green apple. There is a light hint of pear in the background but it isn’t too bold. The pouches are slim, soft, and moderately moist. They are a little lighter in weight, but not too light that they feel small in the lip or anything. The flavor of this one is quite enjoyable. The mix of green apple and pear is pretty pleasant. I notice more green apple than pear though. It’s tangy, a little tart, and has just a little bit of sweetness to it! The nicotine strength on this one has a steady delivery and hits right about the regular strength level. I find the flavor to kick around a decent amount of time, usually lasting up to about 35-40 minutes on average.

The Bottom Line

I really liked the flavor profile of this one. It’s a pretty enjoyable, unique taste. Also, I like the reusability aspect of this one, and getting bulk packages like this is a nice way to save some cash. How much do you ask? A tube of this costs €27.81. There are 160 pouches, which would be €0.17 per pouch. If you put 20 pouches in a can, that means a can of this costs €3.47. There aren't many other "cactus" products out there, but since this one makes me think of apple I compared it to a few other apple products. XQS Apple is €5.78, and Killa Apple is €4.17 per can.
