Review: Planet Uranium Nicotine Pouches

Review: Planet Uranium Nicotine Pouches

I remember the first time I saw this product in the Planet line. If you’re unfamiliar, the Planet Nicotine Pouches line is a line of products named after planets. I’m not sure where the flavor inspirations come from, because some of them are kind of oddly named. For instance, Jupiter is called Vanilla Jupiter. I’m not sure what vanilla has to do with that planet, but hey, at least it’s creative. This one is another interesting one. First, the name is called “Uranium”. Perhaps they changed it because they didn’t want a pouch called “Uranus”. The others are all named after planets, and this is the only one that changed. But, when I use it, I still call it Uranus. This one has a mentholated flavor, and is pretty intriguing. So, without further ado, why don’t we get into this review and check this one out.

Opening up the can, you’ll notice the pouches are blue! I haven’t seen this in a long time, and I find it to be pretty neat, and interesting. Each can weighs 13 grams and has 20 portions, for 0.65g each. The product description for this one says, “Planet Menthol Uranium Slim – A tobacco free and all-white snus from the manufacturer Nikotabako with an icy mint flavor! Its discreet and slim nicotine pouches deliver strong nicotine kicks (10.5 mg/portion) together with a refreshing menthol flavor that leaves a nice cooling sensation under the lip.The filling used consists of natural plant fibers. A high-quality filling that ensures that these nicopods won’t stain and that they drip minimally, which results in a long-lasting release of both flavor and nicotine”.  The nicotine content on this one is 16mg/g, and with the 0.65g portions that’s actually just 10.4mg/portion, or just a little above the regular strength mark.

Usually, I’m not one who is a big user of mentholated pouches. I find the aroma and flavor to often be too medicinal for me. Opening the can, I do notice menthol. But, it’s definitely more smooth than others I’ve had before. It’s a pretty mellow, icy, slightly sweet aroma of menthol. All in all, it’s not too bad. The pouches are pretty interesting. I haven’t seen blue pouches since AG Snus’ Blue Ocean way back in the day. I find them to be pretty soft, and moderately moist. Under the lip, they’re pretty comfortable and satisfying. I also encounter a gentle cooling presence when I put one in, common of mint and menthol products. In the flavor, it’s definitely menthol, but not too much menthol. I find it to be pretty balanced, and enjoyable. It’s a relatively smooth, lightly sweet flavor of menthol. It’s not too medicinal, which is nice. The nicotine feels to be about the regular strength level, or maybe just a hair above. It has a pretty steady, enjoyable delivery of nicotine. I find the flavor hangs out a good 35-40 minutes, on average.

The Bottom Line

Going into this one, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. But I did find it to be pretty enjoyable. I’m not usually the biggest menthol fan, but this one honestly wasn’t half bad. The flavor was pretty decent, smooth, and refreshing. If you like mint or menthol pouches, you may find yourself enjoying this one. I also think the blue portions are a really neat addition. They’re not going to change the flavor or anything, but they still were pretty neat to see, I did like that. So grab yourself a can or two on your next order, you may find yourself pleasantly surprised with this one!
