Review: Lyft Cool Air X-Strong
Today, we’re checking out a nicotine pouch product by BAT in Sweden: Lyft Cool Air X-Strong. This one is relatively new-ish, and is part of the relaunched Lyft line in Sweden. For a while, Lyft went away and was rebranded to Velo, but there has been a revival of the Lyft brand name as of late, and this is one in the new generation of Lyft products. Cool Air is a minty product, as you can tell by the name, and is similar to Velo’s Ice Cool, if you’ve had that one before. But if not, don’t fret! I will do a full review and we’ll check out this product!
Opening up the top lid, you’ll notice the catch lid comes in the FlexLid format, which is a rubbery, flexible layer that grows and expands as you add more used portions to the can. The description for this one says “Tobacco free, all-white and slim nicotine pouches from Lyft that deliver extra strong kicks together with a fresh and cool mint flavor!” Each can weighs 16.g and has 24 portions, at 0.67g each. Cool Air comes in Medium, X-Strong, and Ultra Strong. This one, X-Strong, is in the middle of these strengths. This one is 10.47mg/portion, so around the strong level.
When you open the can, you’ll notice a clear, smooth, refreshing aroma of peppermint with a subtle sweetness. The pouches in the can are the slim size, with a moderate moisture amount and a soft feel. Under the lip, they fit comfortable and feel soft against the gum, delivering a gentle cooling sensation once you put one under the lip. The flavor is pretty nice. One thing I like is that it’s not mega sweet. It’s a refreshing peppermint. It has an icy presence to it, but it’s not too overbearing or in your face. It’s pretty well balanced. The nicotine strength is stronger than you would expect. While only 10.47mg/portion, this one feels to be between strong and extra strong and kicks a little stronger than I anticipated. It has a pretty good kick to it. The flavor hangs out a good 40-45 minutes, on average.
The Bottom Line
The Lyft series is quite impressive. Like Velo, these are some of the highest quality nicotine pouches on the market. This series has a lot of flavors in it, too. No matter what you’re into, you can find something you like in the Lyft or Velo series. As far as this one goes, it’s a pretty decent mint product. It’s fresh, has a decent kick to it, and it’s not super sweet. If you’re a mint fan, this one could definitely be a product you can use all the time and not burn out on. If you’re looking for a new mint taste, you may want to give this one a go!
