Review: Siberia X-Tremely Black Original Portion
The Siberia line is one of the most popular lines in the world of snus. It is also the strongest line of snus products in the world of snus. Usually, their Siberia Red variant is the most popular, with its bold mint flavor. But today, we’re checking out Siberia Black. This is one with a whole lot of nicotine, and a whole lot of tobacco flavor. So if you’re looking for something bold, GN Tobacco has you covered. You’ll notice the catch lid is on top, and not on a hinge like other GN Tobacco products. The flavor description for this one says, “This snus delivers a classic tobacco flavor together with intense and extremely strong nicotine kicks (43 mg/g)”. I count 20 portions in the can, with a weight of 20 grams, for 1 gram portions. The nicotine content sits at 43mg/g, and with 1 gram portions that gives you a full 43mg of nicotine per portion.
Opening the can, a rich, dark tobacco aroma greets you. There are present tones of citrus, pepper, and a light floral touch. The pouches are nice and dark, plump, and moist. They have a great feel under the lip, and a quick release of flavor. The nicotine hits me really quick; usually it takes about 5 minutes and my head is spinning. I don’t use a lot of stuff this strong though, so keep that in mind. In the flavor, I notice citrus up front, along with notes of pepper. The tobacco base is rich, and dark, and has subtle floral tones behind it. It’s a pretty nice flavor profile! The nicotine keeps kicking the whole time you have it in, and feels well, well above the extra strong level. The flavor lasts as long as most original portions, usually a good 40-45 minutes on average.
The Bottom Line
So, two things from me. One, this snus is way too strong for me to use, so it’s not one I’d buy again. But, the flavor is fantastic. That being said, if you like really strong products, you’ll love this one. Even though it’s not for me, I have friends who really enjoy this one and use it all the time. It ultimately depends on you, and what you’re looking for. If you like the taste of tobacco, or traditional flavored products, this is one you’ll enjoy the flavor profile of. And if you want something that’s really high-octane, this is the product you want in your rotation!
