Best Oden’s Snus Products
Ever since they first burst onto the snus market, GN Tobacco has become one of the most popular manufacturers out there. From their snus to their nicotine pouches, they make products for everyone. And whether you like Siberia, Islay, WOW, Olde Ving, White Fox, or Oden’s, they have a product for the masses. But today, I really want to sit down and dive into the Oden’s brands. It is their most diverse brand, so I thought it would be fun to see if I could come up with a top 5 list of their products. Spoiler alert, as hard as I tried, I couldn’t. I was, however, able to narrow it down to a top 6. That was a little easier. So, we have a top 5 and one honorable mention at the end.
I’ve been a big fan of their snus going back to 2011ish. When they first came onto the scene, the strongest snus on the market was 16-17mg/g. They said no, we can do better. They then launched Oden’s Extreme, at 22mg/g, which became the strongest snus in the world. Then, years later, they upped themselves and went up to 45mg/g with their Siberia brand. Siberia is, still, the strongest snus product available. They do make lighter strength products of course, and have ones that range from regular strength all the way up to Siberia strength. Now, with all that being said, let’s check out my top 6 product recommendations in the Oden’s Snus family!
#1 - Oden’s Cold Extra Stark Original Portion

Snubie’s Thoughts: Back in the day, when I first started using snus, I was a big fan of Thunder Frosted. It was a spearmint flavored snus with an extra strong kick. A few years back Swedish Match bought V2 Tobacco, the company that makes Thunder Snus, and they gradually began gutting all the V2 Tobacco brands from their portfolio. It’s a great travesty, but that’s for another article, another day. Well, a lot of people other than myself were also fans of Thunder Frosted. I recently stumbled across this one and fell in love with it: Oden’s Cold Extra Stark Original Portion. I know everyone always talks about Oden’s Cold Extreme, but this one is special in it’s own way. It’s not as strong as that one, and reminds me a lot of the old Thunder Frosted Snus. For that reason, I put it at the top of this list. That, and I’ve been using it like crazy lately. It’s a fantastic spearmint snus.
#2 - Oden’s Extreme Original Portion

Snubie’s Thoughts: Oden’s Extreme Original Portion was one of the very first products that GN Tobacco launched. I fell in love with this stuff hard when it first came out. I remember the ugly hockey puck cans it used to come in back then, too.
#3 - Oden’s Double Mint Slim White Dry Portion

Snubie’s Thoughts: Oden’s is probably most well known for their Cold snus. Oden’s Cold Extreme White Dry is their most well known, and is one of the most popular mint snus products in the world. I do like their Cold products., but if I had to pick the best objective flavor it would be Double Mint. I’m usually not one who uses a lot of menthol flavors, but the way this one mixes is just perfect. There is a blend of peppermint and menthol with this one that comes across in a fresh, icy, pleasant way. I like their regular strength version of this one best, but I like the slim size of these portions. So, I find myself in a true Catch-22 with this one. But honestly, any Double Mint variant they make is good, so you should definitely check them out.
#4 - Oden’s Original (Original Portion)

Snubie’s Thoughts: Oden’s makes one product that people don’t discuss as much as they could: Oden’s Original, Original Portion. Yes, redundant. This is a snus that has the traditional flavor to it much like you’d get with General, but it has a cheaper price tag. This one has that spicy tobacco base to it, and a nice taste of citrus. The original portions are plump, moist, and comfortable under the lip. Honestly, it has it all. A lot of times I’ll forget about this one, so I’m guilty of it. But, every time I have it I’m like, “Man, why don’t I buy this one more often?”
That being said, you should try it. It’s good. And cheap. Those are good things in my book.
#5 - Oden’s Lakrits Extreme Original Portion

Snubie’s Thoughts: You know, when I first started using snus, I wasn’t a big licorice person. To me, as an American, licorice was sweet strawberry Twizzlers. I just could not get into the black licorice flavor. Over the years of reviewing snus, I started to somewhat like it, then enjoy it, then love it. Now, I use it all the time. And in a snus, it’s something I really dig. It’s interesting how Swedish Snus did that to me.
Oden’s isn’t exactly known for licorice snus. But, their licorice flavor is one of my favorites, and one I consider to be the best on the market. They used to make a loose licorice snus that I loved, but I don’t see it around anymore. This one is quite nice. It has that spicy tobacco base that Oden’s Extreme is known for it. Then, throw in some sweet, salty licorice tase on top of it and you have a sure winner. I usually keep this one and LD Salmiak in stock for whenever I want to go for a licorice taste. It’s always a winner, in my book.
HONORABLE MENTION - Oden’s Wintergreen Slim White Dry Portion

Snubie’s Thoughts: I would have felt off not including this one. Now, if you know me, you know I’m not a super big, mega wintergreen fan. It’s one that, for me, I have to get a craving for. Those cravings come and go, but it’s generally based around the environment. I like wintergreen for those summer days when I’m working on our farm. I also like it when I’m out hunting or camping. Something about the wintergreen flavor just fits those times perfectly. I have a few wintergreen products I enjoy, and this is one of them. For that reason, I felt that it should make this list, even if it’s just as an honorable mention. The portions are slim, and feel great under the lip. They’re also dryer than your average white portion, which yields a really long flavor longevity; usually I can enjoy these for up to almost 2 hours. Now that is impressive! If you like wintergreen, this is one I’d suggest throwing on an order.
The Bottom Line
While GN Tobacco is mostly known for White Fox, Oden’s Cold White Dry and Siberia, some of their best products are often their least discussed. That’s one of the reasons I like sitting down and making these lists and talking with you all about snus. I find a lot of the best snus products slip through the cracks. People don’t talk about them or forget them. So I try to bring attention to ones I think are solid but just don’t get enough love. A lot of the products on this list are like that, products that don’t get enough love. So, grab one or two of these on your next order. Or, heck, grab all 6.
