Review: 77 Watermelon Ice
Last week, I tried another product called Dope Ice Mango. I noted in my review of that one that I still, for the life of me, don’t understand why companies have to mix mint with every flavor of nicotine pouches. Today, we’re checking out 77 Watermelon Ice, a nicotine pouch that has a watermelon flavor but also, a mint flavor. I know, mint is super popular. But watermelon is such a good flavor on it’s own, why blend mint into it? I don’t know. But, I’ll give this one a fair shake, even if I’m going into it sounding like a Debbie Downer. I think I’ve just been using smokeless products for so long that I’ve seen the mint takeover and I’m like “okay folks, that’s enough mint.”
Now, when it comes to 77, I like their stuff. They’re a nicotine pouch manufacturer out of Poland. They make a lot of great tasting products. They make what I consider to be the best tobacco flavored nicotine pouch, they also make what I consider to be the best cola nicotine pouch (their Vanilla Cola flavor). So, even with the inclusion of mint in this one I knew I’d still most likely enjoy it, because 77 is a legit company and they make pretty solid products.
Now, without further ado, let’s get into this review and check out this nicotine pouch, shall we?
The product description on this one from SnusExpress.com says, “77 Watermelon Ice Medium Slim – A tobacco free snus with a tantalizing flavor profile sure to satisfy! Its all-white and slim nicotine pouches deliver stimulating nicotine kicks (10 mg/portion) together with a delicious burst of flavor where juicy watermelon is complemented by a cool dash of mint”. Each can weighs in at 10 grams, and I count 20 portions in the can, weighing 0.5 grams each. The nicotine content on top of the can says 20mg, but with the 0.5 gram portions they break down to having 10mg of nicotine per nicotine pouch.
Opening up the can, the notes of mint hit me first. It seems to err more to the side of menthol. It’s not a super sweet mint, but it is definitely noticeable. The watermelon character is right behind it, and comes through in a pretty mild way. The pouches are slim, and pretty soft to the touch. They are lighter in weight, at 0.5 grams each, but they don’t feel too light in the lip, or like they’re lacking too much. There is a nice cooling feeling under the lip when you put one in, which is pretty nice. I like that “fresh” aspect of this one. In the flavor profile, it’s honestly not too bad. I do notice more mint than I’d like, but some people are into that sort of thing. The watermelon flavor is pretty mild, but it’s there. It’s not super sweet, which is pretty nice. The nicotine strength is about regular strength, and has a nice delivery to it. The flavor, on average, hangs out a good 40-45 minutes.
The Bottom Line
This one wasn’t bad, but not a favorite. I mean, if you like fruity flavors and mint flavors and want them together, you’ll probably be happy with it. I think there are better watermelon flavored nicotine pouches out there, but that’s not to say this one isn’t a decent product. It’s just not one for me. You may be finding yourself saying “hey, I want a mint pouch, but I also want a watermelon pouch”. Well, here you go. In this one, you have both flavors. So, if you’re looking for “fresh and fruity” this is the one you’re looking for!
