Review: Kronan Original Portion
If you know me, you know Kronan is not one that ranks highly on my favorite lists. It’s not a bad snus by any means, but everyone is into different tastes. For some reason, this is a taste that just never really connected with me. But, I like to review as much snus as possible, so it has come time that I sit down and talk about Kronan Original Portion. Kronan is a love/hate snus for many: some are big fans of it, some not so much. It has a unique flavor profile that is really one you have to try for yourself before you can make a decision on it. But, with that being said, I’m going to do a review today and tell you all about it.
The flavor description on this one says, “A great-value original portion snus from Kronan Snus with medium strong kicks and a dark tobacco flavor that is topped by tones of citrus and violet”. You’ll find the catch lid on top of the can, which is a place you can discard of your used portions if you aren’t near a trash bin. Each can weighs in at 21.6 grams and has 22 portions, for 0.98g portions. The nicotine content is 8.5mg/portion.
Okay, it’s time, let’s open this can and talk about Kronan Original. In the aroma, I notice some floral elements right off the bat. Behind it, a slight touch of lemon, a mild tobacco base, and a hint of dill. For me, that’s the part of Kronan I can’t get into. However, some don’t notice it. That’s really the main reason I tell people to try it out, to see what you get from the recipe. The portions are nice and plump, moist, soft, and comfortable under the lip. They also have a pretty quick flavor release! The flavor is interesting, I’ll say that. I notice a mix of dark tobacco and violet up front. There’s some citrus poking around, and then a light hint of dill in the back. It’s a really unique one, that’s for sure. The nicotine strength on this one feels to be about the regular level, and has a nice, steady release to it. The flavor hangs out about 40-45 minutes.
The Bottom Line
I know, I can be hard on Kronan sometimes. But hey, not everyone can like every snus. As I said, it’s not bad. It’s just not one for me. However, I know some people who really love this one. It’s ultimately one you’re going to have to try out for yourself to see where you fall on the spectrum. It may become your new favorite, who knows! Grab yourself a can, maybe try the white one too, and see which one you like best.
