Review: Granit Original Portion
Today, we’re going to be checking out a product by Fiedler and Lundgren in Sweden: Granit Original Portion! I’m more of an LD fan myself, but I have a lot of friends who really enjoy Granit. It’s a pretty decent line, and I haven’t had it in a while, so it’s been fun digging into this one the past few days. This is a traditional flavored snus, with the flavors of bergamot and tobacco playing together in the flavor profile. If you haven’t had Granit, read on, and let’s check out this snus!
The flavor description for this one says, “This original portion snus from Granit Snus delivers medium strong kicks together with a traditional flavor of full-bodied and spicy tobacco!” The catch lid is on a hinge on top, and reveals the used portion compartment. It also has the FlexLid, which is a rubbery compartment that expands as you add more used portions to it! Each can weighs 18.7g and has 22 portions, weighing 0.85g each. The nicotine strength is 9mg/g, or 7.65mg/portion.
Opening the can, I pick up a mild citrus aroma that seems to be mostly bergamot but almost with a lemon hint to it. There’s a gentle tobacco base to it, as well. The portions are plump, with a soft feel and a moderate moisture amount. Under the lip they feel pretty comfortable, with a soft feel and a quick flavor release. In the flavor profile, it’s very much the traditional taste. The bergamot taste is gentle, and I seem to notice a little lemon in there. The tobacco base isn’t super peppery, and comes across in a mild, earthy way. The nicotine strength on this one hits right at the regular level and has a steady delivery of nicotine. The flavor hangs out a good 45 minutes, so not too bad there!
The Bottom Line
Granit is a pretty decent snus. Every snus line has a traditional flavor these days, and it really depends on your preference. I mostly use General, with LD being a close second. I don’t use Granit personally, but it’s just not my preference. I know more people who love Granit than love LD, so that has to count for something. I know many who use it as their full time, every day snus. So, if you’ve never had it, check it out! It may be your new favorite.
