Best Tobacco-Centric Snus Flavors
Now this is an article I can get behind. Honestly, I’ve been looking forward to writing this one all week. Nowadays, all you see is nicotine pouches. Everywhere you look, new nicotine pouches. But me? I’m a tobacco enthusiast and a tobacco lover. I grow my own tobacco. I’m enamored with the tobacco leaf. And personally, I think that’s an advantage snus will always have over nicotine pouches: the rich, natural tobacco taste. So, if you’re like me and enjoy the taste of tobacco, today I’m going to sit down and outline my favorite products that I think really focus around the taste of tobacco properly. There aren’t a lot of them, so this list was pretty easy to make. But each one is different, and special, in it’s own way. So I wanted to shine a spotlight on the products, and companies, that still appreciate those of us who enjoy tobacco and want a rich tobacco taste in the products that we use. Let’s check out the list!

Snubie’s Thoughts: You already knew I was going to have an Artisan product in this list. I mean, come on, I made them. But, even if I didn’t make this one, it would still be my top rated tobacco flavored product. Why? It is the only snus on the market that has zero added flavor to it. So, with this one, you get the taste of tobacco and nothing else. No added flavors. No mint. Nothing fancy. It’s just you and the tobacco taste. I use the white portion a lot, but when I really want to dive in and taste raw, rustic, rich, dark tobacco - this is the one I’m picking up and grabbing.
Ettan White Portion

Snubie’s Thoughts: Ettan White always holds a special place with me. Back in the day, when I first started using snus, this was one of the first products I ordered and enjoy. Regular Ettan Original has too much chocolate taste to it for my liking, but I find with the white portion version it’s a much milder, lighter, more enjoyable earthy base tobacco flavor. I don’t taste the chocolate bomb I get with the original portion, which to me makes this one more enjoyable because it allows you to focus on the earthy tobacco base!
G.3 TNT Slim Extra Strong White

Snubie’s Thoughts: Have you had the Lab Series before? This one reminds me a lot of that. It’s kind of like a slim white dry extra strong version of the Lab. Now, I mostly taste tobacco with this one, but in the background I can dig out light notes of wood and herbs. However, it’s mostly a raw tobacco flavor that I pick up with this one, and it’s that taste that makes this one stand out. It’s a little too strong for me to use all the time, but I really love the flavor so sometimes I’ll throw one of these in after a meal.
Grov Stark Original Portion

Snubie’s Thoughts: Next to Artisan, this is probably my second favorite tobacco-centric portion snus. I’ve always enjoyed Grov, but I like the Stark version more than the regular strength version. I find the tobacco taste to be slightly darker, and more rich. With Grov you get hints of geranium, which is a surprisingly nice compliment to the tobacco flavor. While there are other notes in the flavor profile, with this one it’s mostly that rich, dark, powerful tobacco taste I pick up. Of all the Grov products, this is the one I’d suggest trying out!
Oden’s Extreme Original Portion

Snubie’s Thoughts: I’ve enjoyed this one ever since it first launched. Granted it is an “Extreme” product which means it’s going to be quite strong. So, I can’t use it all the time. But the flavor on this one, it’s really second to none. The tobacco base on this one is dark, and rich. But it has this spicy, peppery character to it that really makes the tobacco base stand out, and have a little punch to it. I think this is probably my favorite Oden’s product, because the taste is top notch. I can’t use it all the time due to the strength, but I definitely can use this one a few times a week.
Goteborgs Prima Fint Loose

Snubie’s Thoughts: Not only is this one of my favorite tobacco-centric snus products, it’s probably my favorite loose product. It’s been the main loose snus I’ve used for years, ever since I first started using snus back in the day. What I like about this one is that it’s very basic. It’s a simple, mild taste with a slight sweetness to it. It also has that Swedish Match grind which makes this one incredibly easy to work with. Some say this one is “boring”, but to me, I think it’s just mild enough that I can use it day in and day out and never tire of it. It’s definitely worth a try, and makes a great first loose for those who are new to snus.
The Lab 06 Slim Extra Strong Original

Snubie’s Thoughts: The Lab Series has been a favorite of mine going back years. This one, The Lab 06, is a product I’ve used, without fail, since it launched. I always have a can next to me, and it’s the main snus I use after a full meal. This one has a great tobacco taste, but it’s got notes of wood and nut to it that really accentuate the rich, dark tobacco flavor in this one. I wish they made a Lab Series Loose, because I’d probably never tire of that one either. If you don’t want one this strong, I’d suggest The Lab 02, which has a similar flavor, but doesn’t kick as much. But I definitely suggest giving this one a go, because it’s quite a great snus.
The Bottom Line
I appreciate companies that still make products that focus on the tobacco taste. You don’t see it as much anymore, because everything is all about nicotine pouches and tobacco-free.
