Review: Velo Tangled Berry
The Velo series of nicotine pouches recently went through a major redesign. A lot of products got new names, and new designs. This, however, is not a previously existing Velo pouch. This is one with a new flavor that was added to the Velo series. Prior to this review, I had not tried this one, so I was quite curious to check it out. If you’re not familiar with Velo, it is a line of nicotine pouches made by BAT / Fiedler & Lundgren in Sweden. It is one of the older lines of nicotine pouches, and has become quite well regarded due to it’s huge assortment of flavors and nicotine strengths. The Lyft and Velo series of nicotine pouches have built quite a reputation over the years. So, with this new product to check out I can definitely say I’ve been curious to dive into it. The flavor description sounded good, so I’m in, let’s do this!
The product description for this one says, “Velo Tangled Berry – A tobacco free and all-white snus that in a discreet way offers a stimulating and deliciously flavorful experience! Its slim sized nicotine pouches deliver strong nicotine kicks together with a fruity and sweet blueberry-raspberry flavor fusion. The filling used consists of a natural plant fiber mix. A high-quality filling that ensures that these comfortable nicopods won’t stain and that they drip minimally, resulting in a long-lasting release of both flavor and nicotine”. Each can weighs 14g and has 20 pouches, for 0.7g each. The nicotine content is 14.3mg/g, which breaks down to just 10.01mg/pouch!
Opening up the can, the aroma that comes through is a pretty rich berry smell. I pick up a touch of raspberry, along with a subtle hint of blueberry. It almost has an earthy, peppery tone to it without being spicy. It’s hard to describe, but it’s quite interesting. The pouch is slim, and pretty soft to the touch. Like other Velo products, it has a nice moisture content to it. When I put one under my upper lip I find it to be pretty comfortable. It has a slim fit, and a comfortable feel against the gum! The flavor on this one is quite good. It’s a very full, well rounded berry experience. It’s got some raspberry tones to it, almost a little cherry, and a light blueberry. It’s slightly earthy in tone, but not “dirty”. It’s got some sweetness to it, but it’s not overdone in the sweetness department. Honestly, this is a really interesting pouch. The nicotine strength on this one feels to be a little above the regular strength mark. It’s not too strong, but not too weak. It’s got a decent delivery to it. The flavor hangs out a good 40-45 minutes. Velo is well known for having some long lasting flavors and great flavor development, which I notice with this pouch, as well.
The Bottom Line
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this one going into it, but I was pretty pleased. The berry flavor is quite full, well rounded, and develops very well. It has a nice nicotine delivery, and a long lasting flavor! The Velo series is quite full, and there is a flavor and strength for virtually everyone within this range. If you’re a fruit flavor enthusiast, I think this is one you’ll be pleased with. There’s not much else out there that tastes like it, and it has a really high product quality. I’d definitely suggest giving this one a go when you place your next nicotine pouch order!
