Review: G.3 Pow
POW! Today, we have something super strong, and super fresh on deck to talk about. This is G.3 POW, a snus made by Swedish Match! This is one that was formerly known as Volt, however when Swedish Match released their line of Volt nicotine pouches, this was rebranded to POW!, but still retains the same flavor profile and strength of the former G.3 Volt product, if you were a fan of that one. The can usually looks a little better, but peeling off the warning label removed part of the P. So no, this isn’t G.3 OW, the P is just a little dinged up. You’ll find the catch lid on top of the can, an easy place to discard of your used portions. The flavor description says this one has “a fresh spearmint flavor that is rounded off with notes of eucalyptus and cedar”. Each can weighs in at 16.6g and has 24 portions, for 0.69g portions. The nicotine content is 26mg/g, which breaks down to 17.98mg/portion.
Opening the can, a sharp, present, focused aroma of peppermint greets you. It’s lightly sweet, and POWerful in presence. The portions are slim, soft, and comfortable under the lip. They’re sightly dry, but not too dry that they’re uncomfortable. Under the lip, you’ll encounter a gentle cooling presence under the lip, which adds an extra freshness to the flavor profile. The flavor is a pretty nice mint taste. The peppermint is front and center, and is pretty clear, and refreshing. It has a touch of sweetness to it, but it’s not too overdone. The tobacco taste is mild, and in the background. All in all it’s pretty well rounded. The nicotine kick on this one is pretty strong, and hits pretty quickly at the extra strong level. The flavor lasts a solid hour, on average, sometimes a little more.
The Bottom Line
All in all, this one is a pretty solid snus. Swedish Match makes a high quality product, so if you’re a mint fan, this is one you’ll be pleased with. It’s a pretty solid mint product, and it has an extra strong kick. If you like something that has that high octane delivery, you’ll be happy here.
